Fundy Trail Parkway

Yesterday Jenny and Andrew Walker plus Lisa, Maddie and I went on a day trip to the Fundy Trail Parkway. We left a little after 11 AM and did not get home until 8:30 PM! It was a perfect day. Clear sunny and not too cold. We had a picnic lunch on top of a big hill overlooking the bay. While we were up there we saw a lookout lower down on the next hill over. We decided to hike down to that overlook because none of us had been down there before. Well will did not find the lookout but ended up down the bottom of a steep hill and three flights of stairs in a little cove. The tide was high but going out so we were able to walk around there. Andy and I went across a little stream and climbed up on some rocks and explored around. Jenny was nice enough to take some photos of Lisa, Maddie and I there. Well when it was time to leave Andy and I carried the stroller up the stairs and then Lisa and I took turn pushing the stroller up the hill. We then went to the end of the Parkway and went across the suspension bridge there and visited the interpretative center. On the way out of the Parkway we decided to eat at The Caves Restaurant. After that Andy and I decided to explore the sea cave right next to the restaurant. Good thing I had my sandals on. There was a stream we had to cross to get to it. So Andy hopped on my back and I carried him across. On the way back there were some BBC students walking up and saw me carrying him and they all though it was very funny. After that we drove around and saw the lighthouse in St. Martin’s. Then headed home. It was a great fall day and we can’t wait until spring for the Parkway to open again. Enjoy the photos!

It’s a shame we missed out! It looks like a perfect day. And we miss many of our Sussex friends, to say the least. It’s a good thing we’re following God’s plan; otherwise, we’d be mad to be here. :)
