Fundy Trail Parkway
9:23 pm, October 8th, 2006Yesterday Jenny and Andrew Walker plus Lisa, Maddie and I went on a day trip to the Fundy Trail Parkway. We left a little after 11 AM and did not get home until 8:30 PM! It was a perfect day. Clear sunny and not too cold. We had a picnic lunch on top of a big hill overlooking the bay. While we were up there we saw a lookout lower down on the next hill over. We decided to hike down to that overlook because none of us had been down there before. Well will did not find the lookout but ended up down the bottom of a steep hill and three flights of stairs in a little cove. The tide was high but going out so we were able to walk around there. Andy and I went across a little stream and climbed up on some rocks and explored around. Jenny was nice enough to take some photos of Lisa, Maddie and I there. Well when it was time to leave Andy and I carried the stroller up the stairs and then Lisa and I took turn pushing the stroller up the hill. We then went to the end of the Parkway and went across the suspension bridge there and visited the interpretative center. On the way out of the Parkway we decided to eat at The Caves Restaurant. After that Andy and I decided to explore the sea cave right next to the restaurant. Good thing I had my sandals on. There was a stream we had to cross to get to it. So Andy hopped on my back and I carried him across. On the way back there were some BBC students walking up and saw me carrying him and they all though it was very funny. After that we drove around and saw the lighthouse in St. Martin’s. Then headed home. It was a great fall day and we can’t wait until spring for the Parkway to open again. Enjoy the photos!

Halifax and Back in one day…
6:31 pm, September 17th, 2006Well it had been since July 1st since Lisa or myself updated this thing called a blog. Lisa and Maddie are gone for a few days to visit family in Bristol and left me all alone here in Sussex. So what is a guy supposed to do when he is all alone? Work? Never! I took a road trip to Halifax yesterday with Matt Valentini and met up with Dean Landry while we were in town. We went to MicMac Mall, (Dean found a pair of shoes after looking for a whole year) MEC (great store and online/catalog store for outdoor stuff - buy a membership!), and drove around Halifax. For supper we ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut. It was only a take out store so we headed off to find a place to eat after geting it. We ended up sitting on some bleachers watching two soccor games going on while we ate. On the way back to drop off Dean in Eastern Passage we stopped on the Dartmough waterfront and took some photos of Halifax at night. It was a fun day and a great way to wind down after a long work week. I am looking forward to taking another trip sometime soon… more on that later if it pans out.
If everyone has not heard the news yet I have a new url: www.4wilsons.com! Yes it is confirmed Lisa is prengnat again. She is due April 30, 2007. That would make Maddie and the new baby 1 year an 28 days apart. So stay posted, more to come… and ultrasound photos when we have them done.

Canada Day
12:50 am, July 2nd, 2006Halifax
11:40 pm, June 30th, 2006Well Lisa, Maddie and I are in Halifax for the long weekend. This is going to be our summer vacation this year. We drove up from Sussex today and got here around 1:30 in the afternoon. We picked up Dean Landry at Dal and went out to lunch at Wendy’s. After that we went to the Halifax Shopping Center and there was not much going on there. So we went to our hotel to check in. We arrived at the hotel and the bellhop came out got our bags and we even used valet parking! It is extra money for that, but where the hotel is downtown I like the fact they park the car in a secure location. While we were checking in I turned around and Chris Stephens is standing behind us! Three Season Ant is in town to play a couple nights at a pub right next our hotel. Small world. So we then walked around the boardwalk a little bit, and then walked back up the pub where they were playing and had supper there. Before we listed the to band Chris held Maddie for awhile. I think he is missing his little guy. I offered to let him take Maddie for the night but he wouldn’t go for it. After listening to a few songs Maddie wanted to go. We then grabbed the car and went over to the MicMac Mall and went shopping. We walked around and visited a few different stores but spent most of our time in Zeller’s of all places. I know there is one in Sussex, but the one here is two stories tall. It really is a nice store. We then drove Dean home to Eastern Passage and came back to the hotel. All in all it is has been a good day and Maddie handled all the travelling well. Hopefully tomorrow she will be happy for Canada Day. I am going to take lots of photos tomorrow. So don’t forget to visit the blog again!

We’ve be Busy…
9:23 pm, June 3rd, 2006Hello everyone!
We apologize for such a long delay from the last update to our blog. Our family has been extremely busy in the past month. Two weekends ago we went to Beulah camp where our summer cottage is. While we were there two exciting things happened. First of all our little gal decided it was time to start sleeping through the night! I was so suprised it happened so early. Since then, there have only been three nights that she did not sleep through until morning. Secondly, it rained the whole time we were at the cottage and on Saturday we awoke to rain in our sunroom! we discovered that our roof has some major leaks and is in need of repair.
It boggles my mind that Maddie is already two months old! I am REALLY ENJOYING motherhood! It has definitely changed my life in many ways, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world! Maddie has brought me so much joy! She just started discovering her thumb this past week and has been smiling and cooing for almost two weeks now. Last week we visited the hospital and discovered that she is now 11 lbs and 5 oz. This week Maddie will receive her two month old shot. My guess is that Maddie will cope with the needle a lot better than her mommy will.
Yesterday my niece Mya, Maddie, and I went to The Magnetic Hill Zoo. There we met up with my kindergarten class. We all had so much fun. The animals were very active which made the visit very enjoyable! Mya, who is about two months shy of her second birthday impressed everyone with her counting skills and extensive vocabulary. Our favorite animals were the goats and lepoards. When we reached the lepoard cage one of them kept passing directly in front of where we were standing. Every time the lepoard turned away from us Mya would extend her arms, laugh, and say “More, more! Again!”. When we arrived at the goats we discovered several baby goats had been recently born. I fed the goats while Maddie napped and Mya pet them. What a beautiful day we had to visit the zoo!
Troy, Maddie and I visited Nana and Papa Wilson this weekend. We caught a cute picture of Maddie and Higgins, the family feline pet catching a nap in Papa’s chair. How adorable! This coming weekend we hope to make a visit to see Nana and Papa Bradstreet.
This Thursday is our kindergarten graduation and the substituting teacher has been very gracious and has allowed me to be a part of the program. I am looking forward to watching my students walk! I am making memory albums for my students and a slide show presentation of our year’s highlights for graduation.
Check out the new photos below and hopefully we’ll do a better at keeping the blog more up to date.
